While I wasn’t lucky enough to jury into Artsplosure this year, our friends of Epona & Oak invited The Handmaidens to set up in front of their store for the weekend! So while I am not officially there as an Artsplosure vendor, you will be able to find me and my wares right there in the midst of it on Blake street in City Market from 11am until 5pm Saturday and Sunday.
Hope to see you there!

Tomorrow I will be in Greenville, NC for Piratefest, selling my loot. I have done this show once before but halfway into it, the show got torn to shreads by the weirdest, shortest 10 minute hurricane-like storm I have ever seen. Thankfully at the time my booth neighbor had been receiving updates about the coming mayhem from her husband and we knew enough to pack up our booth before the show announced the storm. Unfortunately many vendors were not as lucky and got caught in the mayhem.
Up until that point the show had been good, so I am excited about coming back and seeing what it will be like on a nice calm 70 degree day with not a cloud in sight.
If you are near, come visit and say hi arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Still in the mood to shop after Black Friday, but done all the malling one can handle in a week? Come visit the Designers Downtown Market today between 9am and 3pm for a lovely mix of locally made arts and crafts with an outdoor big city feel. And bring me a hot chocolate when you do!
It’s in the parking lot of Ornamentea and surrounding area at 509 N. West Street, Downtown Raleigh from 9:00am to 3:00pm
Hope to see you there!

The Handmade Market was phenomenal this past weekend. It was the 8th market, and in my experience the least painful one yet. It had surprised me the last few markets how somehow last minute things would still blow up in our faces. These stings would make us scramble and stress, and often keep us from enjoying the results of months worth of efforts and labor, but instead make us all look forward to the day AFTER the market. So to actually still be excited about the market on the very day, and still be motivated to get ready for the next market afterwards, instead of wanting to crawl into a dark hole, was a lovely experience for me. I love my fellow handmaidens, we rocked it ladies!

The Handmaidens were invited to be a part of the opening of City Plaza during Raleigh Wide Open this Saturday, October 24th. It will be a day filled with Raleigh traditions such as the parade, bands, and fireworks in the evening, and from 1pm until 5pm you will be able to shop our goodies at the brand new City Plaza (the one with the incredibly cool towers, towards the southern end of Fayetteville Street) along with a great selection of other local crafters, food vendors, and businesses. We hope to see you there!

This weekend is a bit of a double whammy again.

Today it’s First Friday, and Epona & Oak is hosting The Handmaidens for a trunk show. I will not personally be there, but my goods will be along with all the other stunning Handmaidens goods. Go visit any time between 6-10pm for some fun times and pretty, local, and handmade goodness.

Then on Saturday you will be able to find me and my goodies in Alexandria, VA for the ever awesome Art on the Avenue from 10am and 6pm. This is my third year in a row at the show, and after a lot of trial and error at other shows, this is still one of my favorites. If you plan on visiting me, my booth location has changed slightly from my old spot, I will be in W55 this time, hope to see you there!

I am especially excited about the trip this weekend, because my sweet friend Maryellen is once again letting me crash at her lovely house, invade her family time, and I plan to spend some serious time at her inspiring studio and drool ALL over her beads.

This weekend it’s time for Centerfest in downtown Durham on both Saturday and Sunday. I am excited about doing this show again. Last year was my first time there, and I received a killer spot, and even more killer sales and compliments both days long. I hope this year will be the same. Hours are Saturday 10:00 am – 6:00 pm, Sunday 12:00 noon – 6:00 pm. For directions, vendor list and other info, visit the Centerfest website.

On Saturday The Handmaidens will also be representin’ at bazaarSPARK during SPARKcon on Saturday from 10am until 6pm, on Hargett street by Fayetteville street. I will not be there personally (though I will if I figure out how to be in two places at once between now and Saturday), a selection of my goods will be there along with all the other beautiful work by the maidens.

I have been soldering up a storm this week, so if you have been looking for some fresh Vintage Wallflower loot, be sure to visit either show! Also, keep your fingers crossed that the weather behaves. Right now it looks like 40% rain on both Saturday and Sunday. Though rain doesn’t seem to have hurt sales much at my last few shows, it’s certainly nerve wracking!

Saturday I will be peddling my wares on Front street in Downtown Wilmington for the 8th Annual Art Walk from 10am until 5pm. So far the weather looks like it will cooperate for the day, which is a nice change from the last few shows I have done!
So come out if you are near, on your way to the beach, or need an excuse to make a trip out to the coast!
